摘要
Anthropometric measurements and workstation dimensions were recorded for both male and female computer users. The study population was defined by using only participants who used a computer in their home, rather than in an office as part of gainful employment. A body part discomfort survey assessed the impact of their computer workstation configurations on their comfort during computer work. The results indicate that home computer users, although somewhat familiar with the concept of ergonomics published in popular literature, few, if any, of the principles of an ergonomically correct workstation are integrated into home computer workstations. Home computer usage is resulting in pain and potentially aggravating, if not causing, musculoskeletal injuries.
