摘要
In the context of hydraulic simulation of water networks, the paper identifies two classes of mathematical models based on the manner in which the models are constructed. The computational and mathematical merits of the two classes are investigated. A novel matrix approach is used in the formulation of the hydraulic equations. The proposed approach highlights various mathematical features, some of which are not properly. noted in the classical formulation of the problem.
