摘要
Hydroinformatics is a new direction in technology related to water management and protection of our environment. Large-scale application of this technology can be anticipated especially in urban drainage and water supply projects. The reliable design of new water distribution systems and improving the efficiency of existing systems are still a challenge for practical engineers. Since 1990 the charges for water in the Czech Republic have increased several times. The engineers try to asses the existing water distribution systems, to suggest more efficient hydraulic performance and to rehabilitate the old systems. This work can be efficiently undertaken only with simulation models which have been incorporated into sophisticated hydroinformatics tools. The paper describes the methodology applied by the authors for master planning in district cities. The mathematical models ODULA and HYPRESS enabling steady state hydraulics, extended period simulation including water quality and water hammer analysis are presented.
