摘要
The application of hydrogen energy has become a research hotspot, and hydrogen metallurgy technology has attracted more and more attention by iron and steel enterprises under the background of carbon neutralization in China. The cost and carbon emission of hydrogen metallurgy and carbon metallurgy are widely concerned by enterprises. This paper reviews the development of hydrogen metallurgy and the main popular methods of hydrogen production, and comparatively discusses the cost and carbon emission of hydrogen metallurgy and carbon metallurgy. Ignoring the indirect emissions, the results show that the average cost of hydrogen metallurgy is about 18 times that of carbon metallurgy, but without carbon dioxide emission. The cost of hydrogen production by SMR, CG, PE, STE for hydrogen metallurgy is about 5.6, 9.7, 34.3, 60.3 times that of carbon metallurgy, and the carbon dioxide is about 8.9, 10, 2.7, 1.8 times that of carbon metallurgy when considering indirect emissions. High cost and carbon emissions of hydrogen metallurgy is the high cost and carbon emissions in the process of uneconomic hydrogen production. Hydrogen metallurgy technology and hydrogen production still need continuous technology upgrading and innovation to achieve the goal of emission reduction.
