摘要
Steel plate shear in combination with X-shaped restrainers (XSPSW) is one of the new structural systems considered to resist earthquakes and that has better a hysteretic behavior than a simple plate shear wall. In this work, the two-story frame with three openings equipped with a novel XSPSW and USPSW system is subjected to cyclic and real earthquake loads. Hereof, the two models of steel frames with two systems (XSPSW and USPSW) are created. Modeling is done with ABACUS software. These two models are validated based on the laboratory results and are subjected to cyclic and real earthquake loads. The hysteretic behavior and energy dissipation capacity of the two created frames are compared. The strength, stiffness and energy dissipation capacity of the frame with XSPSW are greater than frame with USPSW. The energy dissipation capacity and the maximum shear capacity of the frame in combination with XSPSW system are about 50% and about 28% greater than the frame with USPSW, respectively. By applying a real earthquake load, the amount of reduction in stiffness and the amount of displacement of frame with XSPSW system are acceptable.
