摘要
Radioactive Beams are produced by two different ways, In-Flight and ISOL, which, suited for quite different types of experiments, complement each other. We shall discuss the development of the In-Flight beams at the French national accelerator GANIL over the years. Consecutively, we present the new ISOL type facility SPIRAL which is now commissioned at GANIL. Subsequently, the R&D programme PARRNe of IPN Orsay for intense fission fragment beams as well as the plans to implement the acceleration of such beams at the "SPIRAL-II" facility will be outlined. We then discuss the R&D (collaboration Saclay - Orsay - Grenoble) for multi-megawatt class accelerators relevant to the plans for second generation radioactive beam facilities like the European EURISOL. Such accelerators being of great promise for other fields, a certain synergy to radioactive beams should exist. The present article gives an overview of all these activities and will stress some selected aspects.
