Non-collinear multi-wave mixing in a Doppler-broadened two-level medium

摘要
The angular dependence of the lineshapes in degenerate multi-wave mixing on a Doppler-broadened, one-photon resonant, two-level system was studied within the semi-classical density matrix formalism. The expressions describing four, six, and eight-wave mixing were numerically integrated for planar velocity distribution. Sub-Doppler resonance lines, associated with velocity selection in more than one axial direction, are shown to occur in a wide range of angles of non-collinear configurations. Lines narrower than the homogeneous width also appear, corresponding to high-order nonlinearities.
