Nonlinear resonant interaction of magnetosonic and Alfven waves in a refractive plasma wave guide with an inclined magnetic field

摘要：
The resonant parametric interaction of magnetosonic and Alfven modes in a planar plasma waveguide with a nonuniform density profile and arbitrarily oriented magnetic field is analyzed. In the MHD approximation, by solving the nonlinear boundary problem, the simplified equations for the complex amplitudes of interacting modes are obtained for the case of a parabolic plasma density profile. The growth rates of the decay instability are determined.
