17th GMP Conference: Safe Supply Chain for Pharmaceuticals and Active Ingredients Both WHO and EMA are working on the actualisation of their regulations for Good Distribution Practices (GDP). The content compassion of the WHO GDP Regulations and the EC GDP draft show quite clearly the security of the supply chain for finished products as the main focus of this WHO Guideline. Pharmaceutical companies are forced to buy initial products from emerging market companies because of lacking alternatives and economic pressure. In order to minimize upcoming risks special quality management systems have to be established. The falsification guideline 2011/62/EU currently under discussion contains a lot of appropriate preventive measures. The conference was completed by a lot of discussions and round tables.
