摘要
BEM is a numerical technique for calculating the surface potential generated by current sources located in a piecewise homogeneous volume conductor. Here we introduce the BEM theory and its discrete equations. Then research the factors affecting the accuracy of the BEM, such as: numerical approximations intrinsic to the BEM (for example: constant-potential basic function or linear-potential basic function); aspects of the volume conductor including the volume shape, density of surface elements, and element shape. Last present an improved local triangulation which can obtain a more accuracy in the potential changing obvious area.
