Numerical simulation of the particle motion in a non-uniform magnetic field

摘要
The numerical simulation method of the particles motion in a non-uniform magnetic field presented by the authors requires the knowledge of the forces that act upon the particles in the nodes of a discretization mesh of the field domain. Beside the magnetic forces, the program for plotting the trajectory of the particles allows that the existence of other forces that act upon them be taken into account (the gravity force, the hydrodynamic force etc.) The distribution of magnetic forces within the active space of movement is obtained by use of numerical differentiation, on the basis of the distribution of the magnetic field, obtained using the method of the finite element (FEM). The plotting of the particles trajectory in a non-uniform magnetic field is important in diverse physical processes, for example magnetic separation of some substances with well-known magnetic properties.
