Research on University Library Social Service Mode under New Situation

There is an increasing demand for knowledge and information in modern society with rapid development of social informatization and market economy. Colleges and universities bear the responsibilities of inheriting culture, training personnel training and serving the society. University library acts as staging area of culture and knowledge, and important force of spiritual civilization and national rejuvenation through science and education. University library can serve the society, exert own advantages, and provide services for the society, which are needs of era development. In the paper, social service mode of university library under new situation is studied. Status of serving the society by university liability under new situation and necessity of university library in face of society services are analyzed. Social service mode of university library under new situation is discussed, and suggestions of improving social service mode in university library are proposed.
