摘要
A new model accounting for the size- and shape-dependent superheating of nanoparticles embedded in a matrix has been developed where the particle shape is considered by introducing a shape factor. It is found that if the nanoparticles have coherent or semi-coherent interface with the matrix and the matrix has a higher melting temperature than the nanoparticles, superheating will arise. Furthermore, it is shown in present calculation that the particle shape may contribute about 10% to the total temperature variation. The present predictions are consistent with the available experimental results. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
