摘要
One of the important challenges in the wireless heterogeneous cellular network is to stochastically model a network for improving its performance, which can be analyzed in terms of throughput. For increasing the throughput of a particular network it is very important to characterize the noise and interference resulting from various sources in the network. In this article we frame a network model using Poisson point process (PPP) distribution for characterizing the throughput with respect to signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), which ensures the successful reception of packets by the receiver only if the SINR value is more than a predefined threshold value, assuming interference from all possible transmitting devices in the network. Then we characterize the throughput with respect to packet traffic, which ensures the successful reception of packets only if the transmitted packet does not collide with other packets emitted by the nearby transmitters. Furthermore, we provide a study of the impact of the wireless propagation characteristic (e.g., Path loss and Rayleigh fading) and packet traffic patterns (e.g., slotted-synchronous, slotted-asynchronous) on the throughput of the wireless heterogeneous cellular network.
