Influence of circuit breaker operation upon transformer's residual flux and inrush current

摘要
The paper presents a model and computation results of current and magnetic flux for a system containing a three-phase transformer and a circuit breaker. In order to consider arc's influence on simulated phenomena, a circuital model of breaker with arc was created. Arc's model was built basing on its static and simplified dynamic voltage-current characteristics. The simulation results show that the maximum value of transformer's inrush current depends both on the moment of switching on and also on the moment of the preceding de-energization of the transformer.
