Nonbridging external fixation of intra-articular distal radius fractures

Non-bridging external fixation achieves superior results to bridging fixation of extra-articular distal radius fractures. This also can be applied to intra-articular fractures in select circumstances. The biomechanical considerations and a case report in this article highlight the underlying foundations of this technique.
