摘要
This paper focuses on the performance of a metal-coated fiber Bragg grating (FBG) used as a high temperature sensor. Specifically, the performance of a chromium nitride (CrN)-coated FBG sensor was evaluated in extreme temperature environments. Using an optical spectrum analyzer (OSA), the reflection spectra of the CrN-coated FBG sensor were measured and compared with those of bare FBG for temperatures ranging from 100 degrees C to 650 degrees C. In this way, the Bragg wavelength shift and temperature sensitivity of both types of FBG were obtained. The results indicated that the CrN-coated FBG sensor exhibited a 14.0 pm/degrees C greater temperature sensitivity than the bare FBG. (C) 2016 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
