摘要
This paper presents a novel hybrid plasmonic nano-antenna. It has metal insulator metal (HMIM) multilayer configuration and has an overall size of 1.7 X 1.175 mu m(2) to resonate at 1.55 mu m wavelength. The proposed antenna is fed by an HMIM plasmonic waveguide to achieve good impedance matching. Simulation results show that the proposed plasmonic nano patch antenna emits a broadside radiation pattern with a bandwidth of 0.282 mu m (1.471-1.753 mu m). The achieved antenna gain and efficiency are 4.5 dB, and 60% respectively. The proposed antenna is practically realizable and can be fabricated using standard semiconductor fabrication process. Moreover, it could be used for numerous chip-scale applications such as wireless interconnects energy harvesting, photoemission, photodetection, scattering, heat transfer, spectroscopy, and optical sensing.
