"INDOOR" RADON AND FEATURES OF ITS DISTRIBUTION IN TBILISI - THE MAIN CITY OF GEORGIA

摘要
In the present work there are resulted the data on values of "indoor" radon concentration in various buildings (in living spaces and auxiliary rooms) obtained during studying in 2011 in the territory of Tbilisi. Taking into account of the obtained results and reference level of "indoor" radon concentration recommended by WHO, some ranges of radiation activity - from sufficiently low up to ultrahigh level have been introduced and the quantity of control points in each range has been determined. It is shown that the major part of control points is in the range of the radon concentration from sufficiently low up to typical and above typical (less than 20 - 100 Bq/m(3)), however there were control points, in which radon concentration was in the range estimated as high and dangerous (100 - 500 Bq/m(3)), reaching in some cases values of an order of thousand Bq/m(3). Comparison with literary data for other countries has been carried out
