摘要
The Industry-Defined Fundamental Research program is designed to bring together industrial and academic researchers to develop basic science in areas important for the success of American industry In September 2009, the National Science Foundation awarded $1.2 million to And a pilot of the program. With those funds, the Industrial Research Institute has identified key areas of concern and solicited white papers in those areas; the white papers outline how further awards could be used to develop basic science around central questions in the fields of coatings and adhesives, materials interfaces, renewable energy. renewable feedstocks, and nanotechnology.
