摘要
The consideration of temporary, modular buildings based on bio-based materials such as wood has so far posed a methodological challenge for life cycle assessment. Based on the integration of probabilistic and dynamic elements, a method could be developed that enables reliable life cycle assessment results taking into account uncertain end-of-life scenarios and linked lifecycles. The method was applied to the case study of a temporary lightweight shell construction based on a modular timber construction system. The potential environmental impacts were analyzed using the example of GWP as part of a Monte Carlo analysis taking into account the uncertainties of future use. There are clear advantages with a high number of conversions compared to a correspondingly high number of new buildings. Furthermore, it could be shown that the potential environmental impacts of the construction are less than 0.8 kg CO2-equivalents per m(2) net floor area and year with a probability of 87%.
