Acid-base and complexing interactions of ethylenediaminedi-α-valeric acid in aqueous solution

摘要
Ionization constants for ethylenediaminedi-a-valeric acid (EDDV) at 298.15 K and several values of solution ionic strengths (I = 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 KNO3) have been determined using potentiometric titration. EDDV complexing with magnesium and calcium ions has been studied. Monocoordinated (ML) and protonated (MHL+) complexes, where M stands for Mg2+ or Ca2+, have been observed. Stability constants for the complexes have been determined. Extrapolation to the zero ionic strength resulted in thermodynamic ionization constants for EDDV and stability constants for EDDV complexes with magnesium and calcium ions.
