Calculation of the electron distribution function of a semiconductor plasma in an electric field

摘要
The spatially-uniform relaxation of the electron distribution function of a semiconductor plasma in an electric field is investigated by numerical solution of the Boltzmann kinetic equation. The computational algorithm is based on the splitting method, in which a correction to the distribution function results in satisfaction of the macroscopic law of conservation of the number of particles. The results of the calculations are compared with experimental data as well as those obtained by the Monte-Carlo method. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
