摘要
This article is the result of research developed in the discipline Public Policies and Management of Basic Education offered by the Graduate Program in Education at the University of Brasilia-UnB. The text discusses the presence of the private sector in the provision of Brazilian Basic Education, presenting quantitative data on its participation and perspectives, both from the interests of the private sector, as well as from critical approaches on the subject. The analysis carried out allowed us to perceive a significant role of the private sector in the Brazilian Educational System, not only regarding the educational offer, with proposals for the reorganization of the system and policies in the field of education.
