摘要
Today the information society cannot be visualized without computer literacy. According to the Lithuanian republic documents we can propose, that in a first quarter of 2005 the 36% of cities inhabitants and 14% of rural inhabitants have personal computers in their households. The differences between cities and rural regions are too large. An article shows the bad tendency of computer literacy in rural communities. From the questionnaires we can make conclusions, that the motives on which depends computer having in rural households are following: inhabitants' age, lack of resources and the lack of motivation. The computer is in a such households, which have a large land areas (farms) and there are students in this households. All researched rural regions have no libraries, schools, and there are many old age people in these regions, which don't requires computerization.
