Experts describe the basic concepts of parallel coordinates as a tool for multidimensional data visualization. They discuss the geometric construction of parallel coordinates, issues related to the visualization of large data for scientific and engineering disciplines, and how users can interact with the visual representation of multidimensional datasets. The experts also describe details of implementations and applications in a follow-up article in this department.
