Study on effect's of reflected shock wave on flame propagation in gas explosion

摘要
Based on experiment, the effects of reflected wave from the. end wall of gas explosion chamber on flame propagation were studied. The results show that the reflected wave compresses the gas to a high temperature so as to contribute to the acceleration of flame propagation, on the other hand, the velocity of wake caused by reflected shock wave is in the opposite direction to flame propagation so as to suppress it. Under the effects of the opposite wake, the flame will reduce its velocity as it reaches the middle and rear section of the chamber; and then, similar to the initial gas explosion flame, it accelerates again. As the reflected wave is of high intensity, the suppression is boosted and even cause extinction of the flame. These results are significant to guide the prevention of gas explosion in field and reduce the power of gas explosion.
