Three-dimensional Navier-Stokes computations of transonic fan flow using an implicit solver

摘要
A numerical solver for the simulation of three-dimensional viscous now in turbomachinery is developed and applied to calculate the flows in an axial-now transonic fan. The Navier-Stokes equations are written in a rotating frame of reference and transformed to generalized body-fitted coordinate system. The governing equations are solved using the Pulliam's implicit diagonalized scheme and the turbulence effect is modeled using the Baldwin-Lomax algebraic turbulence model. Results will be presented for a transonic fan rotor, and compared with the experimental results obtained at NASA Lewis Research Center.
