Research on Factors Influencing International Direct Investment in Central Guizhou in China and the Countermeasures

The western investment environment in China has been improved and promoted since the implementation of Western Development Strategy of China, because Central Government has given financial allocation and issued preferential policy to the western provinces and cities. Advantageous investment environment attracts foreign investors to conduct direct investment in the western region. This paper probes into the factors influencing international direct investment by taking the American enterprise Qualcomm in Central Guizhou for example. It finds that cultural factors of synthetic thinking mode vs. analytic thinking mode, individualism vs. collectivism, masculinity vs. femininity, uncertainty avoidance and monochromic time vs. polychromic time, and location factors of talent, policy, market and infrastructure are the important factors which influence international enterprises' direct investment in Central Guizhou. And the related countermeasures of weakening cultural differences, strengthening talent training, consolidating market and improving infrastructure also have been explored.
