摘要
As we all know, teaching is an art as well as a science. In this way, we may say it's a complicated job. In order to do this job well, the teacher needs to be acquainted with as many teaching methods and techniques as possible, and understand the underlying theories and principles, apart from possessing a comprehensive knowledge of the subject and the ability to use it. Though as a teacher, still there is a lot to learn. Since teaching is a dynamic and long-term process, to some extent, teaching is learning, is about learning to teach. Meanwhile, we should realize that learning to teach is a collaborative effort, a reflective process, a situated experience, and a theorizing opportunity. This paper is to illustrate these four integrated aspects in foreign language teaching, so that a novice teacher may form a better understanding about teaching in college, and help realize that teaching is a dynamic, creative and exploratory process that begins anew each time the teacher encounters a group of learners.
