摘要
The spatial distribution of LTP and LTD induced by a temporal modulated stimulus, composed of high and low frequencies, was investigated in a slice preparation from the hippocampus of a guinea-pig by using the optical-imaging method. As the results, the stimulus dependent LTP and LTD were simultaneously observed in the Specific areas in CA1. The area of LTD is correspond to the localized area of pyramidal cell output layer of CA1 with feedback inhibition from basketcells, which differs from the area (stratum-radiatum) of that induced by low frequency stimulation (1Hz). From this, the resultant LTP/LTD is closely related to the network structure of the CA1 area. The coding mechanism is discussed in the relation between the stimulus pattern and the network structure.
