Penicillium marneffei pneumopathy found in a Thai woman-patient HIV positive.

The first case in Nantes of a pneumopathy with Penicillium marneffei found in a Thai ill woman HIV positive is reported. The original aspect of this observation comes from the exclusive lung localization with few cutaneous signs. The mycologic identification was established in the same time from cultures of broncho-alveolar fluid samples and from blood samples. The discovery of this pathology allowed us to reveal the woman seropositivity for the HIV. After a favourable evolution during a therapy based first on amphotericin B then followed by itraconazole, two months after, the patient. died of zona meningoencephalitis.
