We show that for any subset epsilon subset of F(q)(d) with |epsilon| >> q(d-1+2/d), the number of singular matrices whose rows are in 8 is close to the expected number (1 + o(1))|epsilon|(d)/q. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
