摘要
This paper focuses on comparative study between wear behaviour of Hard chrome electro plating and tungsten carbide-HVOF coating deposited on stainless steel (SS316) substrate. Developed coatings were subjected to microstructure & SEM studies, microhardness and friction & wear test using pin on disc machine. Optical and SEM images shows homogeneous and dense microstructure in both hard chrome plating and WC-HVOF coating. Microhardness of WC-HVOF coatings are remarkably higher than hard chrome electroplating and uncoated stainless steel. WC-HVOF coatings shows a significant improvement in wear resistance compared to uncoated hard chrome plating and uncoated stainless steel. (C) 2018 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
