摘要
Bis(dithiolato)metal complexes, MDT2s, with pi-conjugated molecular skeletons exhibit multi-step ligand-centered or metal-centered redox activity and catalytic hydrogen evolution reaction activity in solution and a variety of unique physical properties such as electrical conduction and spin frustration in the crystalline state. This review focuses on recent advances in MDT2 concerning the "dimensional pi-conjugation expansion" from zero dimension (0D) (discrete) to one dimension (1D) and two dimension (2D). Anisotropic 1D and 2D MDT2 crystalline nanomaterials have been developed in the past decade and attract growing attention because of their novel topological properties and functions. Section 2 describes the electronic structure and physical and chemical properties of discrete MDT2 complexes. Section 3 summarizes the preparation, characterization, and functionalities of 1D MDT2 system, nanowires. We focus on 2D MDT2 systems, coordination nanosheets (CONASHs), in Section 4.
