摘要
With the rapid development of urbanization, a large number of tall buildings have been constructed in China. By using the code to design tall buildings in China, we found that the only 4 terrain roughness categories can't satisfy the urbanization, the peak pressure at the gradient height is much larger as the terrain roughness is much rougher, and across-wind load of some tall buildings are many times than the along-wind load. These uncertainty may induce conservative or unconservative design wind loads. In this paper, a comparative study on tall buildings with different international codes is done, which includes the comparisons of far field wind speed model, shape factor, aerodynamic damping, and the overall base shear force and moment of 4 typical tall buildings. The major international codes include ASCE/SEI 7-10, AS/NZS 1170.2:2011, AIJ 2004, NBC 2005, ISO 4354:2009, and BS EN 1991-1-1-4:2005. Conclusions and suggestions on how to use the Chinese code from the practical engineering perspective have been recommended to find a balances between the economy and safety.
