Newtonian and non-newtonian fluid flow analysis using the stream function and vorticity

摘要
The authors have analyzed the suitability of the psi - omega formulation of the finite difference method to calculate incompressible viscous newtonian fluid flow as well as to assess the guidelines in order to complete the calculations for non-newtonian flows. In addition, convergence criteria are presented, and convergence depending on mesh size is analyzed. The method for newtonian flows is tested in the driven cavity setup and compared to results available in open literature. (C) 1999 Journal of Mechanical Engineering. All rights reserved.
