摘要
In this paper, the materials and properties of the magnetorheological (MR) fluids are presented and discussed. The possibility of application of the MR fluids to variable speed transmission is used to describe the constitutive behavior of the MR fluids subject to magnetic field. The theoretical method is developed to analye the torque and the output rotational speed of the MR fluids transmission system. The mathematical expressions for the torque and the output rotational speed are derived. The results of the research show that the MR fluids can be used to the variable speed drived systems. The MR fluids transmit the torque the shear can be supported by the fluids subjected to magnetic field. The output rotational speed can be adjusted continuously by changing the magnetic field strength that is applied to the MR fluid transmission medium.
