Improved Scheduling and Routing Algorithm for Energy Harvesting Ad-hoc Network

We consider dynamic routing and power allocation problem for an energy harvesting ad-hoc network with time-varying channels in the paper. Based on Dynamic Routing and Power Control (DRPC), we propose a Multiplicative Weight DRPC (MWDRPC) algorithm. DRPC only considers backpressure from backlogged queue, ignores the shortest path selection. Enhanced DRPC adds different additive queue weights to different nodes, so that data preferentially selects the more convenient routes. The proposed MWDRPC introduces multiplicative weights so that routing depends on the dynamic relative backlogged queue difference, i.e., the ratio of backlogged queue between nodes, but not on the constant backlogged queue difference, so MWDRPC is more adaptive to the dynamic data arriving rate with any distribution assumption. Simulations show MWDRPC has larger throughput. MWDRPC could solve problem well without any specified statistical distribution requirement to harvestable energy process, or data arriving process. It could be implemented in a distribution manner.
