摘要：
the paper examines the present power electronics technology in terms of its constituent technologies. The present trends are discussed. Packaging as a central driver is evaluated and the necessity for a paradigm shift in power electronics technology identified Future possibilities in terms of integration and packaging of all active and passive functions into a hybrid module are discussed and concluded with an exposition of a wide ranging research program to develop future technology.
