Similarity solution for the flow behind a cylindrical shock wave in a rotational axisymmetric gas with magnetic field and monochromatic radiation

Similarity solutions are obtained for unsteady, one-dimensional flow behind a magneto-gasdynamic shock wave propagating in a rotational axisymmetric perfect gas in the presence of an azimuthal magnetic field under the action of monochromatic radiation. A diverging cylindrical shock wave is supposed to be propagating outwards from the axis of symmetry. The ambient medium is assumed to have variable axial and azimuthal components of fluid velocity. The fluid velocities, the initial density and the initial magnetic field of the ambient medium are assumed to be varying and obeying power laws. We have assumed that the radiation flux moves through a rotational axisymmetric perfect gas with constant intensity and the energy is absorbed only behind the shock wave which moves in opposite direction to the radiation flux. The effects of variation of adiabatic exponent and Alfven-Mach number are investigated. It is obtained that the presence of the magnetic field and increase in the ratio of the specific heat of the gas have decaying effect on the shock wave. Also, it is observed that an increase in the strength of the ambient magnetic field and adiabatic exponent of the gas have same effect on the flow variables except the radial component of fluid velocity and radiation flux.
