Assessment of fetal vitality plays an important role in obstetrical examination and is the determining factor for following steps As a standard different fetal reflexes are tested but the absence of reactions is not a reliable sign of fetal death This case report describes the confirmation of a live fetus in a mare with dystocia lacking fetal movements and reflexes
