Modern soil physics as a scientific discipline of Dokuchaev soil science

Soil science has reached such a stage of its evolution that it is starting to differentiate itself into separate sciences (soil physics, soil chemistry, soil biology, soil geography, etc.). The same occurred in the past with other fundamental sciences: physics, chemistry, and biology. Full-fledged individual sciences are characterized by their own conceptual and theoretical basis. The concepts of soil physics are based first on Dokuchaev's approach to soils as a unique natural formation with specific development and regularities of geographical distribution. On the other hand, soil physics manipulates such basic physical theories and concepts as energy, force, types of interaction, structures, and functions of matter.
