摘要
The purpose of this work is to evaluate the failure of an open-hole composite laminate subjected to tensile loading, including both initial damage and damage propagation, using failure criteria and progressive damage models. In order to accurately capture the effect of different specimen sizes on the failure load and failure mode of the AS4/PEEK composite laminate, a user material subroutine (UMAT) based on the failure criteria and washer coupling update method was implemented in Abaqus. In addition, a mesh dependency study of the present model was performed using different meshes. a comparison was made with the present model, the integrated Abaqus model and those available in the literature. The experimental results and numerical predictions were found to be in strong agreement.
