Surgery during pregnancy. A review and special attention to thoracic tumors

Surgery during pregnancy has been avoided by physicians and surgeons because of the dual considerations. Both the mother and child present special concerns and the potential risk to two lives. A review of the indications for surgery during pregnancy with particular attention to thoracic rumors, benign and malignant, which occur at that time and the result thereof, is presented. Surgery when felt to be indicated for either benign or malignant disease should progress without hesitation and may have excellent results.
