摘要
The thoroughgoing study in syntagmatic relations in the lexical domain investigated by our paper made us distinguish some categories of defining contexts for medical language, namely: hermetic syntagms, peculiar to limited medical use, unknown by those who are not initiated in the domain, and improper for the common use, syntagms-cliche of lacunar type, frequently used in doctor's jargon, lexical combinations where the governing word from the syntagmatic point of view, both in formal and in lexical-semantic level, belongs to common vocabulary, but which have in the medical context a special meaning, together with some other types of syntagms with a strict medical use. Through our approach we tried to prove the systematic feature of relations in medical vocabulary, special ways in which the constitutive terms actualize their meanings, at the level of Romanian vocabulary, considered a well defined system, in a continuous innovation, and at the dynamic level of syntagmatic relations between the constitutive elements of this lexical sub-assembly, in which the specific of contextual realizations of medical terms is significantly shown.
