Four New William Hazlitt Letters

This article prints four holograph letters written by William Hazlitt (1778-1830): an October 1793 letter to his father; a fragment of an 1822 letter to the publisher Henry Colburn; an undated letter to 'Gentlemen' (either creditors or publishers [possibly Taylor and Hessey]) that was most likely written in 1823 or early 1824; and an October 1828 letter, probably written to the publisher Rowland Hunter. Because there are so few extant Hazlitt letters (only 168 in the seriously flawed Sikes edition), these four new transcriptions add to our knowledge about Hazlitt's life and publications.
