摘要
The aim in this paper is the die lifetime optimization for the multiple response in metal extrusion process. The main objective of the multiple response optimization is to improve the quality of a product or process by minimizing the effects of variation without eliminating the causes (since they are too difficult and so expensive to control). Using this method an engineer can specify different degrees of importance or priorities among the multiple response by setting the breakpoints at the target values at different heights for each response. In addition to solving a breakpoint problem, a Ch'ng's technique is used in this study, to find the optimum setting parameters. The results of the tests are obtained by numerical simulations with ABAQUS software. The final part of this work presents the application of this technique for die lifetime optimization in a metal extrusion process.
