Novel synthesis of sulfonated poly(phthalazinone ether ketone) used as a proton exchange membrane via N-C coupling reaction

摘要
A new approach to the preparation of ionomers from poly(phthalazinone ether ketone)s, used as proton exchange membrane, that were synthesized by a N - C coupling reaction was discussed. It was found that the sulfonated poly(phthalazinone ether ketones) were engineered polymers that possessed good mechanical properties and good thermal, oxidative and chemical stability, that were studied as a base for new ionomeric materials. It was observed that the phthalazinone-based proton exchange membrane appeared to have lower crossover of methanol in a direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC). The high degree of sulfonation and reasonable water uptake endowed a good proton conductivity and made it a promising proton exchange membrane fuel cell application.
