Investigation of the solitary thyroid nodule

摘要：
Thyroid nodular disease is common, with palpable lesions being present in more than 4% of subjects aged 30-59 (Vander et al., 1968). The majority of nodules are benign, but investigation, particularly in the case of the solitary lesion, is directed towards establishing a precise diagnosis and identifying the malignant nodule requiring surgery.
